PostgreSQL and password

Postby qq1cup » Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:37 am

I got a friend with a problem with PostgreSQL.

He uninstalled the PostgreSQL, then tried to reinstall it, but now (before it installs), the setup program ask for the password that already exist in Windows. He tried with the dbpass, but that doesnt work and now he cant get through this point.

He cant disable the password thing either, since PostgresSQL is not installed yet on the computer.

Pokertracker doesnt work without PostgreSQL, so what do he do?

Open up a command prompt as administrator (Start --> Programs --> Accessories --> right click Command Prompt, click Run as Administrator), then type:
net user postgres /delete

and hit enter. Then re-run the installation process and the user will be re-created.
