Postgre 8.2 to 8.4

Postby Joss » Tue Dec 29, 2009 1:58 pm

Hi all

Ive recently unistalled 8.2 and installed 8.4 ..

Upon opening PT3 it seems i need to start a new database ..

When i try and do this i get the Configure PostgreSQL Database window and below that is the server information .

When i try and create i get the error message " password authentication failed for user " postgres" .

Anyone know what the password is ?

Thanks in advance

Joss

The default is dbpass, but if that doesn't work you can remove the need for the password by following this tutorial.

In that case look for a C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.4\data\pg_hba.conf file and edit it in Notepad (or Wordpad) and follow the directions further down for once you have the file open.
