Unable to Login to Database

Postby jzenner » Fri Apr 11, 2008 11:55 am

Hello,

So, I've had a problem so far every step of the way, but I'm stuck on something I can't figure out by myself.

So far I have converted 3 of my PT2 databases to PostgreSQL. I can look at the data no problems in PT2.

Now, before I spend all day converting my databases, I decided to try to get them working in PT3. It is my understanding that I will be able to combine all these PT2 databases into one large PT3 database? So in PT3 I create a new database under the Database Management Tab. I enter in all the information. I'm not sure if I should be checking if the database already exists or not? I've tried multiple ways though and nothing has worked yet. I've also tried the 2 different passwords that I have used so far with no success. I then go to the "Convert Database" option and I receive the error message Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "postgres".

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Okay, so you can ignore this message now. If anyone else has the same problem as I had here, I just reinstalled PT3 and everything appears to be working so far.
