After new laptop purchase I am moving database from windows XP to Windows 7. My PostgreSQL is 8.3 with PT3.07.02. Would it be worth my while to go to the 8.4s and do the prescribed database mantainance. Or are changes in Postgres really not as applicable to our usage. I assume you all will make conversion painless if it becomes neccessary w/ PT 24 or whatever.

Upgrading to 8.4 will provide some minor performance benefits. We have not yet fully tested 9.0 as it is still in beta. If you use the PT3 backup and restore mechanism you will be able to restore directly into a PostgreSQL 8.4 installation.
