hello is it possible to instal my PostgreSQL database on an external harddisk ?? or is it better on my laptop itself???

It is possible and there are guides for different possibilities in the Database / PostgreSQL FAQ.
Whether it would be "better" on the laptop itself depends on how the external drive is connected, and how you intend to use it.
If the drive connection is fast and will always be connected when you play then having the data on a separate drive can give a performance improvement.
