Hi.
I have recently installed the trial version of PokerTracker. However, the problem I am having is being able to open PokerTracker 3. It asks for me to fill in PostgreSQL server information which is already filled out and I simply cannot connect to it. I have PostgreSQL installed, but I am not familiar with how to use it.

My question is:
How and where do I configure PostgreSQL so that I can connect onto PokerTracker 3?

I have tried reading the quickstart guide:http://www.pokertracker.com/guides/PT3/general/quick-start-guide
I found that many of the pictures are not the same, since I am using the trial version. I have tried to add a new server with PostgreSQL without success. perhaps, the information I am filling out is incorrect, but I based the information from the quick start guide.

If someone could help me solve this, it would be very much appricaited.

Try 'postgrespass' as the password instead.

If that doesn't work you'll need to use the password which you set up when you installed PostgreSQL, or you can remove the need for PostgreSQL passwords: How To: Remove PostgreSQL Password.

Hi,

I too have the same problem when I try to run PT3.

I've tried to install Postgres 8.4 manually but I always have this prompt at the end of the installation:

Problem running post-install step. Installation may not complete correctly
Error reading file C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.4/data/postgresql.conf

It also seems like after installation, the C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.4/data is totally empty.

Is there anything I can do to rectify this problem? Sorry if this a newbie mistake as I'm not familiar with the system at all.

Please try following the complete uninstall and reinstall instructions found here - that will walk you through everything you need to do to get it all set up and working properly.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times but still to no avail. Is there anything to do with the laptop I'm currently using?

Then please create a support ticket and we'll walk you through it in a more detailed fashion and, if that does not get things working, schedule a remote assistance session for you so that we can get right in there and get it all set up.
