Trying out PT4 for Mac - can't create SQL database

Postby Maximilian Kent » Mon Dec 30, 2013 10:13 am

Hi,

I thought I'd try out PT4 for Mac OS 10.9. Unfortunately I can't open the software as I seem to be unable to create the appropriate database. I keep getting this error message:

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT4 DB
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?

After some troubleshooting, I tried restarting my computer but to no avail. Has anyone any insight as to why this might be occurring?

Thanks!

It sounds like PostgreSQL didn't install properly. Please try reinstalling it per our instructions here and that might do the trick for you.
