big noob need help

Postby Nilkoluvbliss » Sun Jun 22, 2008 9:42 pm

I'm not sure if I understand what PostgreSQL really does.

I thought that once you get it set up correctly, then you can add the hand histories of all the other contributors to your personal database. But if that's the case then I know I'm doing something wrong. please help!

Once you import correctly, your database should grow from hundreds of players to thousands, right? Or am I completely lost?

thanks for helping a noob!

It is a database. Nothing more. PT3 uses it to store the hand histories that you import.

It has none of the "magical" properties that you have attributed to it. You'll have to feed PT3 millions of hand histories if you want millions of hands.

LOL,

Yeah I was beginning to think that was the case.

Too bad though, it we had the ability to share hands with one another we could probably get more complete information. I realize that the size would be pretty big, but it doesn't seem all that impossible.

but hell, what do i know.

You would also risk being banned from poker sites as sharing hand histories is against most site's terms..
