Can't find database with other progs

Postby Ninjai » Wed Sep 17, 2008 5:49 am

Ever since I created a new DB through PT3, other progs, like PokerGrapher and PokerEV can't find the new DBs anymore? What's that all about? Anybody got an idea?

Other than that, Texas Grabem e.g. can connect to the DB, but can't read stats from it...strange thing.

I'm not sure whether those other applications support PT3 yet. Do they?

What does that have in common with pt3?
First I think that noone uses pt2 anymore from the guys that use PokerEv, also I heard, that it should work with it, since PT3 only creates the DB. It's just like the progs don't see them in the DB list, while all PT2 DBs created by PT2 can easily be found.

Databases created by PT3 are completely different to those created by PT2. If your third party application works with PT2 databases then it won't automatically work with PT3, and in fact probably won't even detect them (because it won't be looking for them).
If pokerEV is supposed to work with PT3 DBs then you will need to contact them to find out why it isn't working.

Alright, but the problem I see me confronted is, why does a programm, which is not built in order to support PT, doesn't see a DB that is created by PT3. Shouldn't PT3 just create a usual DB so that it could be found by any programm connecting to my SQL server?

The other applications may be looking specifically for PT2 databases, not just any old databases.
You should be able to see the PT3 DBs if you use PGAdmin for example..
