Password error on Install

Postby vidvan » Thu Oct 16, 2008 1:55 am

I've tried to let Poker Tracker install PostgreSQL for me during the install, but every time I get to the end of the installation I get a "Password for postgres too short or not complex enough" error message. Then the installation uninstalls itself.

Is there anyone that has experienced this before??? How can I get around it?

If you run the PT3 with postgres installer it should install postgres invisibly.
If you're using Vista, make sure you right click the installer shortcut and choose Run As Administrator.

Is it giving you the chance to change the password?
I think it needs to contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase letter, one number and one symbol.

Still having problems..... I am running WinXP and I am attempting to install the Poker Tracker w/ the PostgreSQL install. Here is what exactly takes place so you can see if I am doing something wrong :

- Poker Tracker asks to Install PostgreSQL
- Takes me to this window :

- I have tried both leaving these passwords alone and changing it myself, but end up with the same result near the very end of the install :

Any ideas what could be wrong?

What happens when you click 'OK'? Do you get an option to let it create a password for you? If so, let it, but make a note of what it generates.
When you tried changing the password, did you construct it as I suggested?
I half-remember something about this, and I think you can just ignore that and let it finish.
I'm not sure why you're getting that in the first place, though - I'll see if I can get a better answer for you.

OK... I was able to get it to work. I changed the default passwords to include as you said a uppercase, a number, and a symbol and it succesfully installed.

Thanks for the help, didn't do the symbol before.
