Help postgreSQL password????

I have used pt with postgre for years without any problem. All the sudden today pt wont start due to postgre configuration.
It show the conf. but without my password, I dont know my password and havent used it for years. So i erased the program and downloaded it again. Now I get as far in the set up process as password and I thought I could make a new one but they say I have to use my old one. I contacted postgresql and they dont speak english.........Help please im on tilt.. ty Bryant

The default values are:
Server: localhost
Port: 5432
User: postgres
Password: dbpass

If this password does not work for you, you can disable password authentication by following the directions of this tutorial.

I tried and it said the password specified was incorrect. Please enter the correct password for the postgres windows user account

The default password for the service account is 'svcpass'.

This is frustrating. Now i erased both postgre and PT3 from my computer and downloaded PT3 v 3.00 beta 22.
I open my pt(which takes forever) and it says in player list --"unable to login to database. Reason:could not connect to server: connnection refused. Help

That error can sometimes occur because of issues with firewalls; try disabling your firewall and see if that helps. Also in the most recent beta some people have been experiencing that error message and rebooting can fix it so you might want to try that as well.
