Problem with database

Did you follow the full directions for F-Secure users in the Firewall Guide?

Database connections can't be anything to do with the site you're playing at.
If you open Task Manager > Processes do you see any postgres.exe proceses?

As far as I know I dont have F-secure, I'm using Windows firewall and ESET NOD32 http://www.eset.com/products/nod32.php , the antivirusapplication has posed no problems before.

I followed general instructions for the firewall and even shut it off etirely without result.

OK, then please check the general section of the firewall guide.
If you still have problems after that you can schedule a remote assistance session where someone can logon to your computer with you and directly troubleshoot/resolve the issue.
