It'll be a pretty big bottleneck, yes. It might still work if you wait long enough though honestly it's hard to say - we've only done so much testing on hardware of that level, and I don't know of any tests of remote databases on hardware that weak.
Thanks guys. We'll just invest in a more powerful box. Its not gonna cost that much. I had that PC lying around so I thought it was worth a shot.
So how about that batch file for the manual process? Would you be able to provide the correct syntax for that? I'm just missing the actual Postgres commands, the rest is easy. If its more complicated than necessary don't worry about it. I'm just trying to streamline our process.
We don't have a batch file for what you're looking for but the process is very simple. All he'll need to do is open PT3, go to the Manual Import tab, click Import From Directory and choose the C:\History\ folder. When it finishes, he can archive the contents of that folder and there's nothing else to do (other than let the housekeeping part of the import finish).
