I tried this, by creating a new DB in PT4, then clicking Restore on that DB in pgAdmin. It didnt work. Probably because the PT3 database structure doesnt look like the PT4 one. That is probably why the "Browse Database"-button didnt work either.
I did get it to work though after a lot of trial and error.
The advice, I think, you should have given me when I said that pgAdmin detected my database was:
In PT4, go to "Tools"->"Setup Assistant"->"Convert pokerTracker 3 Database". Here PT4 actually detects
both the PT3 and PT4 databases (which the "Browse Database"-button doesnt). Then you just mark the PT3 database you want and then select a PT4 database that you want the PT3 hands read into.
This might be something to remember if anyone else asks about a similar issue; even though pgAdmin detects all databases, PT4 databases doesnt seem to accept restores from PT3 files.
Lastly I want to thank you for all your help, especially with finding the .exe file that could install postgreSQL over my old directory. I am so happy I finally got my DB back.
I could not have done it without you.
