Best Allocation Unit Size.

I will have my postgres data files on their own disk and their own computer. But how they interact, as far as speed, with the HUD's requests will be the most important to me.

I am going to format a new hard drive for my postgres database files today and would like to make it the best for speed.
How it works with the HUD is of the utmost importance.

What is the optimum allocation unit size for speed of the postgress database files ?
