I am trying to install PostreSQL with no sucess. I have downloaded something, but it is just a file, and I have no idea what to do with it. I might have the wrong link.

Anyone with a suggestion would be appreciated.

Download and install PT3 with postgres, that will install it for you invisibly.
If you are using Vista, make sure you read this: Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3
