im trying to set up postgres and really have no idea how to do it. i'm not very good w/ computers. i am on vista and am trying to make it so i do not need a password. i opened the doc. pg_hpa.conf and tried to replace md5 w/ trust, but is says i cannot save it b/c i have to make sure the path and file names are correct. what is the easiest way to set this data base up? is there anyting else i have to do? it is getting quite frustrating at this point.

thanks

In Vista, you need to make sure everything you do is as Administrator.
Before you edit the file, right click the shortcut and set it to 'run as administrator', then you should be able to save it.
