Absolute beginner to PostgreSQL

Hello,

I can't find anything on getting started with PostgreSQL and PT3. I have some familiarity with SQL language (from Oracle), but other than that I know absolutely nothing. (E.g., I don't know how start up PostgreSQL, don't know how to start querying the database.) Is there any kind of tutorial out there for starting from square one? I didn't see anything in the FAQ's even, which strikes me as odd.

Thanks

You don't need to know how to use postgres - PT3 will do it all for you (in most cases).
Just download and install PT3 with postgres.

If you want to know about postgres in general, you should probably go to http://www.postgres.com

Did you install PT3 with postgres, or did you do the installation manually? (or did you already have postgres installed?)

If this is your first installation of postgres and PT3 and you don't yet have any databases, please see this post for how to reinstall.
Total uninstall/reinstall of pt3

Note: if you are using XP you can just use the PT3 with postgres installer for the reinstall step, after you've completely uninstalled.
If you have the problem mentioned here (Attn: Vista Users Installing PostgreSQL 8.3) you can download Postgres 8.3.3 in step 4, as this updated version apparently works better on Vista.
