I followed the instructions verbatim. I get the message the database does not exist. I have 8.2 on the main machine and 8.3 on the laptop. Is this a known issue? I can see the database when I'm in PostgresAdmin on the laptop, but when I attempt to connect through PT3 on the laptop it does not see it.

I'm not sure that you need postgres on your second computer, but I suspect that the problem will be to do with using 8.2 to try to connect to an 8.3 database. I'll get someone to take a look at this thread.

Never mind, I was the problem. I was not entering the IP address correctly when trying to connect. A tutorial with screen shots would have helped immensely. thank you
