Two questions about SQL.

1) Why are there 6 or so PostgreSQL processes running long after I shut tracker3?
2) I denied PT3 access to the internet as an experiment and I got an "Unable to login to database" error. Where is my database? On my machine or somewhere on the web? If it is somewhere on the web, is this a change from PT2? If so, why???

1. That's how postgres works - I can't remember exactly what the individual processes are, but there are a minimum number that will always be running. PT3 does not control this, the postgres service does.
You can stop the postgres service while you're not using PT3 if you want: Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Stop Service.
2. PT3 needs to connect to Postgres via a port, so it's probably being prevented from doing this.
Your database is not on the web, don't worry.

Thanks, that clears it up.
You got a great avatar, but you need to get clearer pic. Good reminder of the importance of getting away for a while into the backwoods.
