hi

earlier tonight i was using poktertracker as normal. everyrthing was fine. i exited the programme.

just now i wanted to continue playing and started PT3. in the lefthandside column where it usally lists the players there is now a red error message:

unable to login to database (PT3 DB). REason: FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "::1", user "postgres", database "PT3 DB", SSL off

what does this mean?
i did not change a THING since last using the software.

i am using the trial version and have 38 days left i think.
i restarted windows twice now, but the problem is still there.

i checked under start->programmes->potsgreSQL8.3 and that file the error message refers to is still there.

please help?

I'll get someone who knows more about postgres to take a look.

Click Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Edit pg_hba.conf

Scroll to the bottom, and add this line exactly as you see it here:

host all all ::1/128 md5

Then save and exit the file, and Start --> Programs --> PostgreSQL --> Reload Configuration and things should then work properly.

thanks man!
you're my hero now.

that line was actually already in there, but prefixed with # (i believe that means it's commented out).
wonder why it changed at all... but it's all working now, that's the main thing!
