help! uninstalled/deleted postgres files, but...

Postby g3ts_umm » Mon Dec 08, 2008 1:26 pm

okay, so in trying to fix a pt3 problem, i uninstalled and manually deleted the postgres folder, not remembering that it contains my databases.. From looking around the forum and online i don't think theres anyway to get it back, but, the first time i installed postgres, i wrote down in a notepad all of the following..

database user:
password:
server user:
server pass:
server:
port:

Now using these, will i be able to reconnect to my original database?

B/c ive tried using these but i keep getting a bunch of errors.

is there anyway to restore my original database?

thanks

Once you've deleted those files, your database is gone. You cannot recover it.

What you can do is get PT3 working again, though. Which is what, if you've got PostgreSQL set up properly, connecting to PostgreSQL again will do.
