Formatted computer....

I formatted my machine a few days ago, but I keep a separate system drive from my data. Basically my C: drive is nothing but Windows and any programs that will cease to work if I Format and Reinstall.

All of my database information, pokertracker and all of my Poker software is on my D: drive and untouched, so the database is still there.

I have postgres running again, and I can get into it using the postgres admin. The problem is when I run Pokertracker, it will not show any stats. It just displays an error in the left hand pane which says "Unable to login to PT database : PT3 DB, Reason : FATAL "PT3 DB" does not exist.

Any idea how I can fix this? I know all the info is there, it's just a matter of knowing how or what to reconfigure to get everything synced up correctly.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Edit : Well..I did some more digging...and if what I think happened did happen..then I am screwed. If someone could answer this definitively, I would really appreciate it.

What happens to your PT database when you convert it from v2 to postgres? I had PT v2 and then converted that database from that to the current PT 3 postgres format. My PT v2 database was installed on my D: drive, and therfor always saved. When I installed postgres, I installed it to my C: drive because I knew it would need to be reinstalled if I should ever format the machine. When it did the conversion, did it move all of my database data to the location that I chose to install postgres to? If it did indeed move my database from D: to C: , then I am screwed and it is gone.

Sigh..goodbye 100k+ hands.

When you "convert" your PT2 database it leaves the PT2 database as it was and creates a new one for PT3, which unfortunately would be on the drive where you installed postgres, so I'm afraid it will be gone.

Where did you have PT3 moving processed files to? If that was on the d: drive then you will be able to re-import them.

Now that you mention it, it was moving files to the D: drive. I can probably re-import them. Also, I think I still have my old PT 2 database...I wonder if I can somehow re-convert that again? Is that even possible?

Well I managed to recover about 55k hands from old saved hand histories. That's far better then starting over, and those are the most recent 55k hands, the stuff that I lost was fairly old.

Thanks for the tip WhiteRider, it really helped and saved my database.

If you have different hands in your PT2 database, use Utilties -> Export Hand Histories to File, and then manually import them as you did for your processed files.
