most efficient way to export your database from old pc ?

hi everybody
i need some advice.
i bought a new machine and now i need to import my old database to my new harddisk. i am not sure how to do this.
my configuration: my old pc and my new pc connected via a router plus a external harddisk.(winxp)
what i did so far: i installed pokertracker and postgresql on my new machine and tried to copy data folder from my old database. but that did not work. i got a lot fatal error messages.
maybe somebody has a hint for me.
thx
