kraada thx for quick answer.
i decided to keep my old machine as a server. i tried to setup my old machine as told in this tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=4638
still on my old machine: i open my pt3 build 22 and go to database management: there it says: PokerTrackerDatabases: Default/Active Poker Tracker 3 Database PostgreSQL Database:PT3 DB; Server: localhost;Port: 5432; User:postgre;

on my new machine i installed pt 3 build 23 no postgresql: i open pt3 and i get following message: unable to login to database (PT3_xxxx_xx_xx_xxxxxx) - reason:could not connect to server:connection refused(0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCPT/IP connection on port 5432?

should pt 3 on my new machine automatically find my database on my old pc? do i need to configure my router somehow? maybe windows?

i would appreciate some hints to solve this problem
thx

You need to tell PT3 on the new machine (ie- where the server isn't running) to look for the server on the IP address of the other machine, not on localhost. "localhost" is shorthand for "the IP address of this computer", which is always 127.0.0.1. You need to put in the IP address of the server in for the client to connect properly. Once you've done that, assuming you followed the tutorial correctly, PT3 should be able to list (and connect to) the databases.

The easiest way to reset the database configuration for the client machine is probably going to be to edit the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg file and remove the information in the [Databases] section. Save then restart PT3 and that will prompt you for your database information again from scratch. Put it in and you can then add your existing databases.
