Hi,

I used to have PostgreSQL 8.2 but I lost the username/password to the database so I uninstalled it before I installed PT3. After I installed PT3 using the default username/password so I won't forget, PT3 worked like a charm. All I have are positive remarks.

Then I turned off my computer and turned it on the next day and PT3 cannot connect to my PostgreSQL server. The error message is

""Unable to login to database (PT3 Beta DB1). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) []Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting [] TCP/IP connections on port 5432?"

Please help. I really like the software.

Go to Start -> Programs -> Postgres -> Start Service

Are you SlowHabit? new screename -> start from the basics

Is postgres running then? As in, if you try and connect via pgAdmin or psql, does it work?

Hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE and click on the 'Processes' tab. Do you see a few 'postgres.exe' in the list?

Unfortunately, yes haha.

I opened pgAdmin III and noticed there are two services available: one for postgresql 8.2 and one for postgresql 8.3. I delete/drop the postgresql 8.2 server and tried loading PT3 but it doesn't work.

I can't connect via pgAmin because I forgot what is the default password for postgresql for PT3.

Also, there are multiple instances of postgresql.exe running when I hit ctrl-alt-delete.
