Problem with database

Hi.

I recently moved from IPN(Boss) network to iPoker network and I have had since some small problems with my PokerTracker. Sometimes when I start PokerTracker it won't show any stats for me and there appears a message "Unable to connect to PokerTracker database". Also sometimes I have to restart my HUD couple of times before it work correctry and shows playerstats at the table. I decided to start a new database because my old one has hundreds of thousands of hands from IPN network that I don't need anymore but when I try to make a new database, there comes an error message:

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT3_2009_09_07_220423
Reason: Unable to login to database (PT3_2009_09_07_220423). Reason: server closed the connection unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally before or while processing the request.

Can anybody help me with my problem? Thank you :)

Hmmm...I tried to run the database houskeeping for my current database and now when I start auto-import it just says: "Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to connect to database: PokerTracker 3 Database"

What firewall/anti-virus software are you using?

F-Secure / Windows Vista Firewall

F-Secure is almost certainly your problem; see the new Firewall Troubleshooting Guide for details regarding F-Secure.

I tried to stop the F-Secure service but it won't solve the problem. Besides I have been using F-Secure and Poker Tracker at the same for months without having any of these kind of problems. The problems started somewhere after I changed from IPN to iPoker about a week ago (but I don't know if thats the cause). Usually when I start the PT3 it can't show the stats correctly. At some stat-boxes there is a red text stating "cannot connect to iPoker" And some boxes may be showing the stats right. And when I start autoimport it may or may not stop it, and when it does the following message appears: "Fatal Exception during Auto-Import process: Unable to connect to database: iPoker". "iPoker" is just the name of my current database since yesterday I managed to make new databe after I tried maybe 50 times without succeed.

So my Pokertracker works every now and then, but its pretty frustrating to reboot it many times when I start my grinding session.

I'm on iPoker and PT3 has been working like a charm all the time. Now "it is unable to connect to any PostgreSQL databases", i suspect it us due to last Windows Vista update.

I made an exception in my firewall for PT3 and Postgre and have uninstalled and reinstalled PostgreSQL 8.4 (was 8.3) exactly as this post shows: http://www.pokertracker.com/forums/view ... 16&t=15574

I run PT3 as admin and it still wont work so I need help. If you need to remotely check my computer I don't mind, I'm feel blind and lose money without it.

perb,

Have you rebooted your computer since running the Vista update? That can fix certain problems relating to their recent update.

sturumm,

If the workaround will not function for you, we cannot do anything other than recommend moving to a different anti-virus/firewall as F-Secure will not allow PostgreSQL to run otherwise and it is not something we have control over (as much as we wish we did).

Yes, several times.

Please try uninstalling PostgreSQL 8.4 and go back to 8.3.7 and see if that fixes things for you; upgrading from 8.3 to the 8.4 line is actually a bit complicated, as 8.3 databases can't be read in 8.4.
