Would puting my db on seperate drive affect performance?

Would puting my db on seperate drive affect performance?

Fwiw its a laptop so its really one partitioned drive-there is a lot more space on the other drive though. I assume i would follow the directions here viewtopic.php?f=15&t=12136&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p56641 Also should I split my database b/n my hands a datamined? If so could u link a turtolial for me?
