I can not restore my DB

Postby UberArtz » Tue Dec 22, 2009 3:57 am

Hi. I last played a few months ago and that was on my desktop with win xp64. Now I want to play again but I own a laptop with win 7 . I can not restore my old DB that I have backed up. It sees the file but when I hit ok or restore it says file not found. This happens in the latest version of PT3. in in the onw before, 29 i think, it gives me an error.

Any thoughts? 10x guys.

How did you backup the database?
You need to restore using the same method that you backed up with, and into a version of postgres that is at least as new as the one you backed up with.

Well I backed it up using de backup button. And had restored previosuly without problems using the restore button. But now in the latest 2 version of PT3 it seems it^s not working.

Do you have a computer with the working database on it? If so, upgrading to Beta 30 and taking a new backup will work - the new backup will work in Beta 30 on the new machine (and as I understand it the new structure will be used in the future as I don't believe we need to make further major changes to the backup system).

Backups made from any version should restore when using the current beta 30. We'll need to see the .backup to diagnose this.

There were some restore incompatibilities in beta 29 and some alpha versions.
