Unable to start Postgres service

Postby si16 » Thu Dec 31, 2009 7:43 am

Hi,

I have been running PT3 for some time now with no real difficulties. Within the last few days I am unable to use it at all and I believe it to be related to PostgreSQL. The problem started when I opened PT3 and was asked to connect to a database which I was unable to do. I checked Task Manager only to find the postgres service does not appear anywhere Processes tab (previously there were always multiple instances). I re-installed postgreSQL, carefully following the instructions in the pdf on this site and encounter the same problem. Whenever I try a manual start of the postgres service I just receive an unhelpful message.

I use Windows XP SP3 and haven't made any recent changes to the system.

Please attach the last 4 files in the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log folder to a support ticket and we will investigate further for you.
