New laptop/PT3 is on External

Postby crtsports » Thu Jun 03, 2010 6:26 pm

I am trying to access my full PT3 database from my external hard drive but I am obviously not doing it correctly.

In my PT3 folder I see these files
--postgresql-8.3 Size is 157KB(this is the one that when my laptop starts PT3, it reads)
--postgresql-8.3-int Size is 23,992KB(this is the one that my desktop reads from)

If I just delete the smaller one, will that cause any issues? I had originally dled PT3 on my laptop and imported a few hands from May to see if it was working correctly and all. I have since deleted it off of my laptop HD and just using the external HD. But now I think I created two databases and I really want the main one to be read and not the secondary one. Hopefully I can get this sorted out! Thanks a lot!

Those files aren't the database they're the installers for the database. You could actually delete them and it wouldn't matter.

The actual database is stored in PostgreSQL - what matters is where PostgreSQL is installed if you're worried about the database's location in terms of your drive setup. If PostgreSQL is on your main hard drive, so is your database. If you haven't actively created a second database via the Database Management window, your data is likely all in the same database. If you did, you can switch the database that's currently used by changing which database is Active via the Database menu.
