Can;t find the answer for this. I had a computer meltdown, but before i did I made a copy of the folder called dala from my pt 3 installation. I do not have all my hand histories. Can I get information from that folder to fill in some gaps i have in the new pt3 installation I just finished? How do I get the information in that folder into pt3?

The only data stored in the PT folder relating to your data is the Processed subfolder which, by default, is where PT3 moves the hands you have imported after you have imported them. If you reimport that directory via the Manual Import process you should get all data that was processed from the old system (assuming you continued to use the defaults there).
