Database Update Error

Postby DanielP » Sat Nov 20, 2010 8:29 am

Having downloaded the new version of Poker Tracker, I can no longer use Poker Tracker at all

When updating the databases Postgres crashes during the process ('encountered a problem and neeeds to close'). Have tried three times and exactly the same problem happens. However if I skip the update process when opening PT3 to simply create a new database, PT3 closes.

Postgres was already ulreliable (for me at least) on the old version and would sporadically crash, causing PT3 to crash. Now cannot use the program at all. Am I the only person with this problem?

What version of PostgreSQL are you using? If you have problems with PostgreSQL then PT3 could have problems accessing the databases.

Please run PT3 via the "Logging Enabled" link from the Start menu and report your problem so that we can see what is going on for you.

Many thanks for your prompt assistance as usual!

After the fith identical attempt the update process displayed a different set of error messages, then eventually worked. This is nice but strange that it doesn't operate in the same way every time.

As soon as I used the new PT3 I noticed that my balance in the General Tab was different to the result on the graph, with a varying discrepancy throughout the session. There is pressumably an error with the multi-currency as I play mixed dollars and euros.

This is a massive problem as PT3 no longer accuratly tracks my balance - it's most basic aim! For example the 3.5hour session I just played shows I lost $13.22 in the General Tab yet I lost about $25 on the graph; there is still a box next to it saying amount lost $13.22. This never happened on the previous version.

Sorry to moan - PT3 is an amzing program (when it works) and the support is great! Fatally flawed ATM thou...?

Try rebuilding your cache via Database --> Housekeeping - depending on the errors that occurred, that might fix things for you.

The graph is displaying the currency adjusted amount - the "Amount Won (Global)" stat - but the info box on the graph shows the numeric "Amount Won" stat. This is in our system to be fixed. If you add "Amount Won (Global)" to your other reports it will match the line on the graph.
