when i want to start PT3 a window pops up that has never poped up before - it says:

Configure PostgreSQL Database
Name: PT3_2011_02_10_180045
PostgreSQL Server Information
Database: PostgreSQL
[ ] This database already exists (i think it does ? ) Browse database
Server: localhost User: postgres
Port: 5432 Password: dbpass
Create/Connect (depends if [x] or [ ] in "databse already exists" and Cancel

When i click [x] and "Connect" it says:
"Unable to connect to PostgresSQL database:
PT3_2011_02_10_180045
Reason: Unable to login to database
(PT3_2011_02_10_180045). Reason: server closed the connection
unexpectedly This probably means the server terminated abnormally
before or while processing the request."

i recently made a database backup - can i have something to do w/ it?

Making a backup shouldn't cause that sort of error - did you install or change your anti-virus or firewall software?

Click Start, type in Event Viewer and hit enter - go to the Application logs in the top left window, do you see any errors listed for PostgreSQL there? If so, could you tell me what they say?

Then please attach the last 5 files in the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\pg_log directory to a support ticket and we'll gladly investigate further for you.

I'm glad to hear it's working again, though! Has this happened to you before?
