"Unable to connect to this database. Check configuration."

Hi,

I'm trying to test the trial version of yopur program. Like others here, I receive this pop-up when I launch PT3: "Unable to connect to this database. Please Check the configuration." I never did get the PostgreSQL set-up wizard on set-up.

As suggested in the FAQ, I have changed the password setting to "trust" and re-booted -- but I still get the error message.

PostgresSQL 8.4 is installed and running.

If it's any help, I believe I was using PostgreSQL with PokerOffice but I don't remember the password or other set-up configurations.

Thank you

Please restart PT3 using the Logging Enabled link, reproduce and report this problem so that we can investigate further for you - the logs will give us more information as to at what step the connection is failing.

Sorry, I'm confused. The instructions you sent me to say I have to go into PT3 configuration to get "logging enabled". The problem is, I can't get PT3 to start (it gets as far as the "Unable to connect to this database. Please Check configuration." message and no further). So how do enable logging?

To generate the log files you must enable logging.
You can do this in one of three ways:

In PT3 go to Configure > Options > Logging Enabled - make sure there is a tick next to the option.

Sorry. Just getting a bit frustrated and inpatient. I read further and have created the log file.
