For us Mac users, which version of PostgreSQL are we to use?

My current set up:

PokerTracker version installed: v3.11.6 beta
PostgreSQL currently installed: v8.4.4 (from 2009-07-01, 17 versions old it appears.)

PostgreSQL available as of today:

9.1.1 (latest version)
9.0.5
8.4.9
8.3.16
and more

All versions available: http://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.1/static/release.html

http://www.postgresql.org/

Maybe consider updating this as it may now be dated information: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=35894

It is safe for you to upgrade to v8.4.9. All you need to do is download and run the installer and it will upgrade you.

We've tested 9.0.5 on both Mac and Windows so that version is safe as well. Upgrading from 8.4 takes more time because you have to backup and restore. On Mac there is not much speed difference between 8.4 and 9.0.

We are waiting until 9.1 becomes more stable to resume testing with it. Since it is so new it is not recommended for PT3. (There are crashes and lockups even with medium sized PT3 databases.)
