Were there any errors during the PostgreSQL installation? If so, what were they?

If not, go Start->Programs->PostgreSQL->Stop Service
Then Start->Programs->PostgreSQL->Start Service

See if that resolves the issue. If you are still having trouble then send me the last three PostgreSQL log file (located in your main PostgreSQL directory /<version>/data/pg_log directory) via the Support system so that I can review the problem and find a solution. :)

Best regards,

Derek

i uninstalled postgresql and am reinstalling. i got an error that reads:

Failed to run initdb: 1!
Please see the logfile in 'C:program
files\postgresql\8.3\tmp\initdb.log'
Note! you must read/ copy this logfile before u click ok,
or it will be automatically removed.

hope this helps. if not, just let me know what i can do. =)
thanks again.

I know this doesn't help now, but when you install a new version you don't need to uninstall first, just stop PT3 and install the new 'without postgres' version.

Completely remove PostgreSQL following _dave_'s instructions.

Then manually download and install PostgreSQL 8.2.7 as mentioned here.
