Can't install postgreSQL

I just can't get postgreSQL to install without getting this error message:

"failed to run initdb: 1!
please see the logfile in 'C:\program files(x86)PostgreSQL\8.3\tmp\initdb.log'.
Note! You must read/copy this logfile before you click OK,
or it will be automatically removed"

What shall I do?

What anti-virus software are you using?

I'm using AVG. Don't really see how that's relevant though. I tried installing it with AVG disabled and it still doesn't work. It says "Initializing database cluster" at the installation bar when the error occurs if that helps.

That error means there was a failure to initialize the database cluster and can often happen if anti-virus software is blocking the installer from doing its job.

Are you using the installer that comes bundled with PT3?

Then try using this installer instead, it may work better for you.
