I am wanting to purchase PT3 very badly lol but when i download PT3 says i should DL postgre and when i try to i keep getting that error in one of the previous posts.. i do have vista and did try to troubleshoot it and i just cant seem to get past this error...i read your post about trying to use the old postgre and i cant get that downloaded either.. im not very technical but i should be able to get past this and i cant... anyway i can get some help so i can get it running and buy PT3

it says that initdb error but thanks for the above link cause i will try that and see how it goes

for some reason i got it to install and it says username already exists??and then it rolls back and the installation and says a fatal error has occured

sounds like you've got some postgres remants hanging around - i will assume this is a new download and a new db and you don't have any populated data yet - if this is not the case, back your db off with pg_dumpall and keep all your hh's, then:

delete any postgres folders and sub-folders manually; net user postgres delete from a dos command prompt - try and install again...

This should be:
net user postgres /delete
