Hello

I have been trying to install postgreSQL and to say the least it is giving me fits! I have uninstalled and installed I don't know how many times, When I get to the end of the install I get the error mess. that reads "User XXXXX could not be created access denied" then it does a roll back and uninstalls.
I have tried all the pass words and user names suggested ect. ect. Can anyone HELP me? I really starting to hate Vista.
I am a complete computer noob so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dan

That's because when you uninstall it doesn't remove the postgres user - you need to do that separately.
Please see this topic which walks you through what you need to do:
Total uninstall/reinstall of pt3

just to add; under vista, make sure you have administrator privileges and UAC is off...
