I've looked over all the info I could find about maintaining a single database over 2 computers. Networking the database is not an option for me.

What I've been doing is just transferring hand histories on a thumb drive, and importing into the database on both computers. This works fine, but I'm starting to want to datamine with auto-import, and I don't end up having histories that I can transfer for those hands.

Exporting and re-importing the entire database is an option, but it's a *very* slow one.

Is there any solution to this? Is it possible to merge two databases? If that were possible, I could have a shared database on the thumb drive (although I might need to get a larger thumb drive for that), and merge back and forth as necessary.

Or is it possible to only export a sub-set of data, preferrably on some sort of command-line interface, so that I wouldn't have to remember to note the date and time every time I export, although it wouldn't be the end of the world if I had to do that?

Selective export has not yet been added, though this is planned.

Why do you say you don't end up with hand histories for you observed hands? Is this on FTP where the .tmp files are removed when you close the table? I think that if you stop auto import with the tables still open the files will be moved by PT3 before they are deleted. Not that this is a full solution if you close and open tables, I guess.

Yes, it's on full tilt, and those histories do get deleted when you close the table.

But if selective export is planned, that should be good enough.
