Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay. Test-running took a while. Everything checks out. But I recently crashed my PT3 and it locks up whenever I try to start it - it never loads up. It is disasterous. :( I had just finished writing a stat that was something like ((BB/100) - 2) and when I clicked apply the program shut down and now won't load back up again. I was trying to make a custom stat that would show the profit one was making over 2BB/100.

Emailing support too, but just thought I'd let you know.

Thank you for your answer!
Hopefully support can fix your problems!
Can't expect to test your stats ;-)

Greetings

Did you create a Support ticket? We don't get direct emails in the correct place.

Yeah, I created a support ticket. They had me install the newest version of PT3. (Beta 27.1 I think) But the problem is, I can't find my custom stats anywhere! They all look to be lost. I did make a backup of my old non-working version of PT3 and all its files. Everything that I have exported versions of I can re-import. But all my work that had not yet been exported... is it all lost??

If you have a backup of C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt3 then you will be able to recover your custom stats from there.

Make sure you keep a copy of the new version of that file before you do anything else.

Close PT3 down.
If you rename the new version of that file you can copy the backup into the same folder and start up PT3.
You will now have your original custom stats.
You can either keep that file if it includes everything you want; or export your remaining stats then close PT3 and put the new file back then start up PT3 again and import what you just exported.

When my PT3 froze up and I ctrl_atl_del'd the program, this corrupted my StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt3 file. So the copy I backed up after this is unusable. I only have the default Stats now.

I tried several data recovery programs to no avail.

I saved all my work in 37-page Word document, but it will take me til the end of June to put them all back into PT since I am so busy in school right now.

If anyone wants to help out let me know, and I'll PM the Word doc will all my work. If not, I'll get them done - slowly but surely. :)

There's a backup file in the C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data directory named StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt3.backup. As long as you haven't gone back in and made changes to any stats after your crash, you should be able to rename it and replace the corrupt copy. This is only available in the latest betas, I believe. I don't recall exactly when it was added, but build 4 may not have the backup.

Yeah, I didn't have it. And the StatDefinitionsCustomized.pt3.backup file that I do have now is a backup of the default.

I exhausted a lot of options in the past couple weeks trying to avoid doing the work again. I'm resigning to the fact that doing it all again may be the only way to get it done.

Thanks.

There should be a StatsDefinitionsCustomized.backup file -- see if that one works for you. If it doesn't, I'd offer to help but I'm a bit busy these days and I don't know if I'll be able to get it done much faster than your timeline.

I've searched every file in my PT folder and have nothing.

BUT good news! All my columns are still there! This should be done in a week or two now. :)
