Posting here again because I was told that sending another support ticket would move my issue to the back of the line.

My last e-mail I sent to PAHud support about this was July 20. Been quite awhile since I heard of any other ideas on what I can try doing. Hoping there is still some work being done to figure out what this problem is (paging through other threads I don't think I am the only one having this).

I read a different thread about somebody having 2 versions of PAHud on his machine somehow so that one could build a cache and the other to be used for the games.
Not sure how that works or if that would have any chance of helping my situation. Should I try to figure out how to do this?

If you have new information, you should reply to your ticket - we're pretty-much up to date with tickets at the moment.

I can't remember the exact issue, but there is a problem in some cases where 1.19.6 can't update the cache, but you can use 1.18 to update it and then use it in 1.19.6.
You install 1.18 and create the cache, then turn off cache-updating but leave the cache itself enabled, and install 1.19.6 again.

What's your ticket number?

Support Ticket #22532

Bob,

Try repairing your database through PT2. If that doesn't work, try compacting it through PT2.

There is a bug that causes this problem in PA Hud that we're still trying to figure out, but sometimes the above will resolve the problem.

Please let me know if it fixes things for you or not.

That didn't help the situation.
I repaired and compacted the database through PT2 and again deleted the database cache in temp file to start over again but I still get the same error message.
'Unable to Create Cache' and then when I click okay I almost immediately get another message that says 'Database Update is complete' even though it seems unlikely that it would be able to do that so fast.

Also worth noting that this is a new computer and I am using Vista for the first time. I only have one database in this new PT although it's over 100k hands now. I have never gotten the cache creation thing to work on this computer. It was no problem to get it to work on my old computer that has XP.

Is it necessary to set up a different PAHud just for the cache creation (like in a different file or something)?
I thought I read about that workaround as a possible solution in a different thread on the PT forums.

The last response to that ticket is Josh's and it shows as 'waiting for user' so isn't flagged for josh's attention.
I suggest that you re-send your reply.

Yup. My apologies. Looks like I screwed up.

It shows up in my 'sent' folder in gmail.
But in the inbox with the chain of e-mails my response shows up as 'draft' so I guess I didn't send it.
I only noticed it in my sent box before so assume it had been sent. didn't see it was somehow still in draft mode otherwise.

Computers are weird.
Thanks for your response.

A couple of suggestions from Josh in Bob's ticket:

"Try repairing your database through PT2. If that doesn't work, try compacting it through PT2.
There is a bug that causes this problem in PA Hud that we're still trying to figure out, but sometimes the above will resolve the problem."

If you're using Vista:
"Are you running PA Hud as Admin? It might be worthwhile to disable UAC temporarily to see if that helps at all."
