Lost hands

Postby Structure » Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:34 pm

So im trying to back up my 2008 DB, when I start getting some hand history errors... Im trying to export all my hand histories for the year, and just about every month except december seems to be missing.. The info for these months is still stored within pokertracker, but when I go to export the hand histories to file it just says "Unable to get hand history for game #xxxx" for every hand.

I have a feeling it may have something to do with this old problem topic I had (viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14966&p=70067#p70067). I think I may have somehow lost/changed the DB that stores my HH files (hh.mdb or whatever).. How do I go about restoring the hh.mdb file?

another problem I seem to be having, when trying to open/explore other DB's, I am getting what looks to be some type of Login screen for psql (but all my PT2 files are in access, however I do have PT3 setup)

its asking me for login name which is set as admin and a PW which is empty, how do I find my PW?

As I told you in that thread, reinstalling the program would never overwrite any existing database files so that's not the cause of this issue. The error means that the hand history text was not found in the hand history database file which is hhdb.mdb - if you have moved your databases from one computer to another and didn't take the hhdb.mdb file then this could happen, it could also happen if you have been importing observed hands from Party or Full Tilt and had the "don't save hand history text" option selected for that. Either way, there is no way to get back the hand histories unless you have also kept the actual hand history files that PT moves to your processed files folder after they are imported into PT.

If you even get a prompt in PT2 to enter a password for an Access database it means the file is corrupted, you should not have to enter any passwords. You would need to go to the Start > Settings > Control Panel > Admin Tools > ODBC DataSources window, click on the System DSN tab and then click on any entry there that has "PTRACK" in it (like PTRACK, PTRACK2, etc) and then click the Configure button and then click the Repair button on the next window to try to fix the file (click OK after clicking the Repair button at the next prompt).
