Error finding ODBC driver name

Postby JesseW316 » Sun Dec 14, 2008 9:44 pm

Recently upgraded from PT2 to PT3.

I was having database problems before upgrading, so I made a backup file of my database and saved it. Now I have PT3 ready to go and was going to convert my PT2 database over to PT3. When I try this, it tells me that no PT2 databases have been found. So I decided to try and restore my recently backed-up db into PT2 and see if it would then show up for conversion in PT3.

When I go to PostgreSQL Database Functions in PT2, and then to the restore option, and then select the backup file I have, it gives me the error "Error finding PostgreSQL ODBC driver name".

What do I do to recover my database?

You are probably going to need to reinstall PostgreSQL 8.2

And then try to restore the database.

Since you install PT3 with PostgreSQL 8.3 you will likely need to use a different port # than port 5432 - use 5433.
Also, on the first window where it describes creating a user name for the database service, try using "postgres" with the password of "dbpass" and then on the next window where it ask for a user name and pwd, use the same values.
