New Database creation

Postby elcal06 » Mon Sep 21, 2009 10:57 pm

So pokertracker started messin up saying database error. I find this page viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1377 and think I do everything I am supposed to do but when I start Pokertracker back up to to go to Utilities/database maintenance it says "could not find the file C: Programfiles/Poker Tracker2/hhdb.mdb." So it appears to me that I am not doing something right because the new database is not there. If someone could help I would appreciate it. If you have any questions let me know.

If it's telling you the file is missing then either you didn't download the new file or you didn't put it in the right folder. Download the hhdb.mdb file from that link and put it in the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder.

I think I am doing both things right. When the file comes up I clicked Save. After that it opens up the save as dialog box. Then I went program files pokertracker and clicked save. It then asked to overwrite and I clicked yes. Then I clicked open and it said "microsoft office access cant find the database file C:/Program Files/Poker Tracker V2/hhdb.mdb. Make sure you entered the correct path and file name and when I try to back into Tracker it says that the file is not there. Thanks for your help on this matter.

I am so confused. I dont know why its askin me to replace the file because there is not file with that name in the Pokertracker folder. The old HH's are now under the heading hhdb_old and there is no hhdb file left.

Are you using Vista? You need to make sure it's going into the "real" c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder and not the compatibility files folder because that's what it sounds like it's doing.

Yes I am using Vista. I have no clue what you are talkin about with mirror program. I am not very good with computers so could you spell out in simple steps what exactly I am supposed to do. Thanks for your help on this matter.

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. There should be a "Compatibility Files" button at the top of the window that shows the files in that folder. Click it. Do you see the hhdb.mdb file there? If so, right-click on it and select "Copy", go back to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder, right-click into that folder and select "Paste" to put the file there.

You were right about where it was and I did what you told me to and it still said the same thing "could not find file programfiles poker tracker v2 hhdb.mdb even though now when i go through my computer- C drive- program files-pokertracker v2 it is in there next to the old database in the same program as the old one. Sorry about all of this hassle and my lack of knowledge and thank you for the help.

I am trying to figure this out on my own but can't. When I open the new hand history database through my computer-program files-pokertracker v2-hhdb.mdb it opens in Microsoft Access 2007 and at the top it says security warning certain content in the database has been disabled and read on this database has been opened read-only. You can only change data in linked table to make design changes save a copy of the database if this help at all and there are no hands in the database. When I open the old database the same way I can see all the data that is there. Thanks again for your help.
