What improvement are made using PostgreSQL

Sorry if this is dumb question, but does converting my PT2 to this make it work better and why?

It should be somewhat faster but it's not that huge of an improvement, don't expect miracles in the speed.
PostgreSQL has no file size limitations like Access does (2gb) so all your data can be kept in one database and it's more reliable that Access is.
