Postgres data on a Mac, shared with Parallels

I want to store my PT2 app and postgres database on an intel Mac, and share that folder with my Parallels XP installation. The problem is, I can't use the Postgres install recommended by PT because it requires the data be stored on an NTFS partition (the Mac is HFS+, if that matters).

Does anyone have a similar setup that works for them that could tell me how they did it? I've searched the forums and have been unable to find this question addressed.
