Problems installing / configuring PostgreSQL

Before obtaining PT3, I'm trying to convert my PT2 DB to PostgreSQL.
I downloaded it, but when I try to configure "service gonfiguration", I'm stuck.
I have:
Service name: PostgreSQL Database Server 8.3
Account name: postgres
Account domain: PC-SIMON
But when I choose a password, I get a warning that username or password is invalid and I can't continue. What should I do to proceed?

Did you install PT3? If so, it already would have installed PostgreSQL 8.3 for you.

I did.
But because I did not succeed in converting PT2 to SQL, I uninstalled both PT3 and PostgreSQL, and started over by downloading PostgreSQL directly from the website. Now I'm pretty much stuck.

Try using the password "dbpass" on the first window where it asks for a password. If that doesn't work, change the user name from "postgres" to "postgres8_3" and enter your own password and see if that works.

Thank you, that would probably have worked.
Instead, I downloaded PT3 again, with PostgreSQL. And to avoid the ODBC-problem, I let a friend download a ODBC-driver and install and configure it manually on my pc. This worked, and I was able to convert between PT2 and PT3.
