I just installed windows again on my notebook. SQL ist still on an other partition but if I got to PT2 I have to configure SQL again. and this window ODBC entry to use is empty. Is the only option I can do is reinstalling SQL again? Hopefully there is some easier way as I have to do it all wit hthis patch for 8.3 and so on... Would be nice if you have any advice.

big thx

Were you running 8.3 before this? If so, you should be able to run the Stack Builder program again to install the drivers as detailed here

You should be able to just download and reinstall PostgreSQL 8.3 - when you get to the window that says "Initialize database cluster" at the top left part of the window UNCHECK THAT BOX and hit the next button. That will cause it to try to use the old data folders.
