I am trying to restore an SQL database from a *backup file and it will not work for me.
I open the Database functions window and choose the file to be restored. I hit the RESTORE button and a dos window opens that seems to be restoring the DB. When that window closes nothing has changed.
Please help. What am I doing wrong?

I am having problems restoring again. I reinstalled PT and SQL on a new Vista system as an Admin with UAC turned off. I have edited the pg_hba.conf file to say "true". After I choose the file to restore and the location of restore.exe a dos window opens for 1 second then closes. I have tried stopping and restarting the server.
Help please.

The values in the pg_hba.conf file should say "trust" not "true".

Yes sorry I meant trust, I was reciting from memory (poorly). The file is set to "trust". The result is the same.

What is the size of the .backup file you are trying to restore? Are you sure it's a PT2 PostgreSQL .backup file you are selecting?
Are you sure you are running PT as administrator? Vista should be prompting you to cancel/allow PT to run.

The backup I am restoring is 230MB. It is most surely a PT2 PostgreSQL .backup file.
I am running as an admin.
Please continue helping.
Thank you.

go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. There should be a file called "ptpgrdump.txt" there. Open that file, copy all the text and paste it into a reply.
